Bret ("the App") is a social prediction game where friends create and wager on bets using virtual chips.
This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
- Account information: Email address and display name you provide when signing
up.
- Bet activity: Bets you create, stakes you place, groups you join, and leaderboard
standings.
- Push notification tokens: Device tokens used to deliver notifications about bet
activity.
- Device information: Platform (iOS/Android) and app version, collected automatically
for compatibility purposes.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To operate the App: creating bets, tracking stakes, calculating payouts, and displaying
leaderboards.
- To send push notifications about bet updates, group activity, and results.
- To parse bet text using AI (Claude by Anthropic). Only the bet description text you enter is sent to
the AI service — no personal information is included in these requests.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS). All database access is protected by row-level
security policies, ensuring you can only access data for groups you belong to.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Your data is only shared with:
- Supabase: Our backend infrastructure provider (data storage and
authentication).
- Anthropic: Bet description text only, for AI-powered bet parsing. No personal data
is sent.
- Expo: Push notification delivery service (device token only).
5. No Real Money
Bret Chips are virtual currency with no real-world monetary value. They cannot be purchased, cashed out,
or exchanged for real money. Bret is a social game, not a gambling platform.
6. Age Requirement
You must be 18 years or older to use Bret. We collect a self-declared age confirmation during
registration.
7. Your Rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Upon
deletion, your personal data will be removed from our systems.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective
date.
